Funny you should mention the Clark in western MA- I'll be going painting in the Adirondacks and have a side trip scheduled to swing over to Williamstown to see the Clark's wonderful collection again. A great place- with a few zillion dollars it's possible to have quite an art collection.Philip Kochhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05191070779177407750noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5682081471599286551.post-91280415285842874792010-06-16T21:38:35.652-04:002010-06-16T21:38:35.652-04:00Durinda;

Maybe Portland will after the studio is ready for viewing. Homer is an American master that we should take the time to study and appreciate. You have great insights into his work. I think Homer is definitely a prime example of what I think of as the American character: strong,frank and practical. As I love all things 19th century, I've been researching different schools of the time. It's fascinating how you can distinguish the Finns, from the Hungarians, from the Belgians, French and Americans just by the feeling and general handling. I think whether people like it or not, the character of their nation is intrinsically a part of their work. Looking forward to the next post!Ramonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06368066115689857506noreply@blogger.com
